Stonesaga - Home

Artwork done for the board game "Stonesaga" by Open Owl Studios.

Sketch 1 - Early in the brainstorming phase I was trying to figure out the "architecture" of this world. The main reference was of course the Stonehenge, but with a twist. The twist is the scale of the rocky structure and the paintings on it, almost reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian art. The second structure shows an abandoned structure and the way it may have been built.
Sketch 2 - Shows a series of natural rock formations that resemble the Stonehenge, arching in the distance, on top of which a tribe has build its camp. The cloudy sea below gives a surreal feel to this already fascinating achievement.
Sketch 3 - Finally, a tent is build on top of a giant tree. Remains of a previous camp are still visible of the stones and the tree itself, showing the appreciation its settlers had for art, wildlife and spirituality.
